Palmerston is a purpose built dementia care home providing care to older people who are living with dementia and struggle to live independently. 

Each room is en-suite with a level access shower, and beds are situated to look onto the en-suite so that those with confusion do not have to negotiate the location. There is a call system, television point, phone point and computer point. We encourage each resident to personalise their rooms with photographs, mementos and other personal items to make the environment as comfortable and homely as possible.

There are three wings at Palmerston, each with its own lounge, dining room and other seating areas for residents to use. We have plenty of patio areas as well as a large, sensory memory garden which was featured on the BBC! 

Our front entrance is safe and secure, operated by a fob system.

Meals are an important part of the day at Palmerston, and are prepared on the premises using fresh ingredients, with snacks and drinks available throughout the day.

we know there are a number of therapeutic benefits that come from staying mentally and physically active when living with dementia, so we always offer our residents the opportunity to get involved in activities and entertainment if they would like to. Residents can also enjoy hair treatments in our very own salon, with a hairdresser visiting at least once a week.

Along with the salon, we have bar area and plenty of other communal spaces where residents may wish to spend their time. 

Our staff are fully qualified experts in caring for older people who are living with dementia. We understand that each person’s needs differ and thus offer a truly personalised approach to caregiving.
